arrived this morning. always wanted one. I got a deal on this pre WW11 all mahogany beauty.
I even like the plastic faux tortoise shell fretboard.
now I want a tenor.
Nice!
pre WW 2? the classic i play is old... it's 35 i think.
looks like an interesting thing to play.
overall: cool 8)
I down loaded chord diagrams. easy to play. my fingers are huge compared.
this thing projects. loud for a tiny soprano uke.
it will be perfect for my fall back pack trip into the wilds of Glacier National park.
the first thing I played was Folsom Prison Blues.
working on Smells Like Teen Spirit.
That Uke's in really good shape. Congrats! 8)

roy Smeck ukes were made by Harmony Guitar Co. starting in 1928. beyond that I dont have any info. googole search found info about Roy Smeck ukes made in the 50's and 60's.
this uke does not look that new.
seller said 30's or 40's.
no label. so it is hard to closely date.
I dont care. the uke sounds really good.
Hey thats really cool. A neighbor gave me their old uke last year. i haven't learned too many things on it , but it is fun to mess around with.

Only uke I have is a Johnson soprano uke. When my music store closed, I bought out their stock of uke strings, and I have two soprano uke pitchpipe tuners. Only one on my block with those, I suspect.
"A cheerful heart is good medicine."
ya can't play a sad song on a uke.
that's what a guy said to me today.
so I played him some Delta
and bent some strings too.
he said I sure could play.
but a uke is too cute
to be sad he said.
Ricochet. I saw a Johnson...not yours  on ebay. maybe a baritone or concert. it looked nice.
I haven't heard much chatter about that brand. so I have to ask, darn it, how is your Johnson?
It is possible to play slide on one, too.
