I just bought a Fender Strat and I need to put knew strings on it but the tuning pegs instead of what i am used to(a hole right threw it)it has a notch in the top with the inside hollowed out. Can someone please tell me how to string this kind. PS I looked at the lesson on here and it is not that kind of peg.

It shouldn't matter all that much, just do it in the usual manner.

Hiya,

You should cut your string so that there's enough slack to wind round the peg two or three times. Push the end into the hollowed out part of the peg. Then tighten as normal, and the string holds itself in place.

Best,

When you say "cut" I take it you mean hold the string about 3cm over the center of the neck...not cut it shorter, right?

You might want to check out this link on WholeNote.com. It's a lesson about stringing, cleaning and tuning guitars.
