I've been GASsing for a smaller-bodied acoustic for some time, and my wife said I could get one as a wedding anniversary gift! (Our anniversary is next week.) I won this little Fender on ebay for US$150 (with gig bag and leather strap):
Solid spruce top AND solid mahogany back! (Lam mahoney sides.)
It's a discontinued "Grand Concert" model, but they can still be found online for around $450 new.
Too bad Fender stopped making them as I've seen some good reviews (one said it's comparable to the Seagull Grand, another said it's more like a Guild - no surprise there, since Fender owns Guild!)
I'll replace the saddle with bone or tusq and it should sound great.
Now the question becomes: which one do I set up for open tunings and slide; this one or the Yamaha dread? Guess I'll have to see how it feels once I get it. 8)
