I have been poking around on this site for sometime, checking out the lessons, which are great BTW. I especially like the ones written by D.Hodge. I am new to the guitar. I have been playing for about six months and I have an instructor that I see once a week. I am pretty happy with my progress so far. The open chords I have nailed so far are A, Am, A7, C, Cmaj7,D, Dsus2, Dsus4, D7, E and G. Open F chord is making progress. Barre Chords are coming along nicley, majors and minors. I know a few songs most of the way through, strictly rhythm, coulple leads but not many and not the whole lick, just pieces. Currently i am working on "Over the Hills and Far Away". My guitar is a Acoustic Fender.

Just wanted to drop a line, i have just started to check out the forum. reading through all the posts it seems as though this is a good group of helpful people willing to share their knowledge, experience and fustrations. I am looking forward to chatting and learnig with all of you. Hopefully I can add something along the way.

Later,

MikeMc 8)

Welcome to the party Mike. Everybody's willing to share their knowledge here.

David Hodge isn't a real person btw - he's a supercomputer, programmed with all the world's musical knowledge and teaching ability, and we switch him on when we want a world-shattering lesson that'll blow your socks off. He's also a big secret, so don't tell.

Best,

A :-)
