i got the digitech PR80 and i love it, but the whammys and harmonizers sort of suck if theyre higher than like a fifth.

Ebay is great for used electronics, but you can get ripped off, so make sure you shop well. Digitech makes nice multi-effects pedals. Zoom pedals are really nice, but they'll cost you a pretty penny. Myself, I've been looking into the Korg Pandora Px4, a very nice, VERY compact digital effects proccessor.

well.. I just bought zoom 505 II yesterday.
it has many effects you can combine and has a chromatic tuner in it that is sooo easy to use.
what i like most is that it has acoustic guitar effect... and 36 pre-set effect mixed.

I have a link to the manual here

http://www.zoom.co.jp/archive/English_Manual/E_505II.pdf

Go read it.
Another nice thing I liked about it - is its running on 4 AA beterries + you can connect headphones to it - so I can now play my electric guitar mobile and using headphones - I can practice anywhere on the move.
