i have a washburn d-10sce and a friend gave me a set of elixir poly's medium. But i usually use lights, will i need a truss rod adjustment if i put on mediums? Thanx

More than likely you will but go ahead and change them and see how much of a difference it makes in the neck relief. It may not be enough to be a problem since neck relief does not impact action (string height) much.
On my pages below there is same basic setup info that can help you figure out if it needs adjustment or not if you don't already know how to measure it.
