i dont know if this has been mentioned but i just tried liquid bandaid on my sore fingers and got some relief. i just started playing again after 20 years and tore my fingers up. the liquid bandaid helps.

The liquid bandaid gives a little cushion, not sure if it will hinder your callous building.
Ibuprofen helps a little too.

I find a shot of whiskey helps as well....it even improved my playing, at least until I sobered up :shock:
