I'm probably going to get a pick up for the resonator & my acoustic dreadnaught and I would like to know what are the best pickups for about $100 us ea that would require no modifications what so ever?
OK maybe just remove the strings and put them on again.
The dread is easy, get a sound hole pickup similar to this.

Most pickups that I've seen use an endpin jack, which requires some drilling to install.
Perhaps you might try a soundboard transducer, but it probably won't sound as good as a dedicated internal pickup.

Dunno, I don't use a pickup on my acoustic, but that one is just an example.Lots of other companies also make soundhole pickups too.
