Welcome to GN

Now here is my opinion. It is a tool to help you learn the notes on the fretboard and nothing more. I am not sure what kind of toll but that is what it is. My guess is it something like Fretboard Warrior. Now I don't mean to belittle the fact that knowing the notes on the fretboard is one of the most important things to know. But there are many ways that you can learn the notes on the fretboard and it may take longer than an hour but you will learn them. Generally speaking if you learn them in an hour you will forget them in another hour. Just need to work on memory retention in other words repeated study.

On the other hand $28 isn't too bad if the tool works.

Yeah, i agree.....28 bucks isnt too bad really.

I've been playing for about 2 years now. No lessons or teachers. Everything was on my own, there is no one here who teaches guitar. I'm just looking for a way to make up for that or something.

Btw, i noticed another site.... http://www.guitargrid.com . its cheaper and its more comforting than the first site i sent. i dont know...thats why i ask the honorable opinions of you guys :P

I understand fret2fret to be a mnemonic system. You associate each note with a celebrity's name and then learn them in a particular order using an elaborate story. There have been quite a few threads on it in the Talkbass.com forums. It's a cheap scam which doesn't even come close to the dishonest promises it makes.

Did you know that the only thing you need to do to become a legendary guitarist is to know the notes on your fretboard? And that you can learn it in under an hour? Yeah, neither did I.

I think it's already been summed up here pretty well, don't waste your money. If you really want to learn the notes then make your own exercises to do so. Everyones got their own methods but the way I learned them to start with was associating them with chords. If you already know your 6 and 5 string bar chords and can find them quickly enough then you already know how to find most of the notes quickly accross the fretboard by knowing where the roots are in the chord, once you have that down you only need to learn the B string.

That's how I started and it worked for me you might have a different method but this stuff is better drilled into you rather than relying on tricks.
