Hi folks

yesterday I saw GHS strings labeled - silk and bronze.

I bought a set and liked the sound very much. It has a mellow nice sound.
I think it's the sound I've been looking for....

Anyone here using this set ? tried it ? opinions ?

I had been using Martin's similar Silk & Steel strings for a while. Very comfortable to play. The only problem I had with them was that they lost their tone quickly. Hopefully the phosphor-bronze winding will let the GHS strings last longer for you.

What does the "silk" part mean? Are the strings actually made of silk?

No, but there's a layer of silk (or synthetic silk-like material) between the core and the winding.

martin's silk and steels are wonderful, but they sound crappy after like, a week. and after less than a month, mine start to turn brown...especially BEHIND the nut. so i dont use them anymore
