You've got to get out more man... I recognize all the geezer songs of my generation and most of the newer ones too.

Fire - Bruce Springsteen
Angel from Montgomery, Forgot that it was Sunday - John Prine
Dear Prudence, Blackbird, Rocky Racoon and Here Comes the Sun
Fire and Rain - James Taylor
Sugar Mountain, Old Man - Neil Young

and just added to the repetoire - Fields of Gold - Sting

Yeah, it's most likely the age thing (I'm only 18). I just figured people were listing songs they enjoy playing rather than highly recognizable tunes that everyone enjoys singing along to.

I also think it happens to depend a lot on which part of the country/world your camp fire sits in. Different areas have different local favorites. You don't hear a lot of the songs that depict the southern US role in the civil war in New York.

What's with they happy face over my age? Is it censored or something? I strove my whole life to never use a happy face and then this happens...

Anyway, I agree. California is not big on the southern/country songs either.

With some numbers you have to turn off emoticons (smilies) and/or BBCode or they show.

In this case it was the 8 with the ) right next to it.

I'm talking about the complete fingerpicking, it's not that hard once you've figured out how he does it.. Ok I agree, it maybe needs a bit of practice but it's very fun to play.................   If you don't want to learn it you can just strum the chords...

Yeah, it's most likely the age thing (I'm only 18).

Just hit the 'edit' button and put a space between the 8 and the ) and you'll be 18 again....

Mind you, I rather liked you when you were 1 and cool. 8)

18 year old musicians are two a penny, but you don't meet that many 1 year olds who know their way round a guitar.....

jbrown: Isn't the quote "The unexamined life is not worth living"? Not to be picky, but I just like the quote.

chris: And I thought I was special being 18 and a musician. My life has been shattered.
