Hey folks,

I've got a Soundblaster Live 5.1 card in my pc and I've heared that this card allows the use of SoundFonts. But how? It has nothing on the driver disc and nothing in their online database, while it should be free according to themselves. Anyone has any clue how I can make it work?

Yep, and they are cool if a bit memory hungry. I got about six CDs worth from Creative a while back when they had a clearance sale.

Let me find the link. You'll need a free tool to load and unload them. Soundfont bank manager is one. Vienna Soundfont studio is another good one.

Check out this site for a good tutorial:

Cool, got it running. Apparantly the better soundfonts are not freeware, but there's plenty of cool 'amateur' stuff. Thanks!

And I think I've figured out how to record it so those without soundfonts will hear it the same. Feel free to check it out. Once again thanks! :)

I thought you could load soundfonts in with the driver that came on the CD. Something or other in the multimedia properties window as I recall. I'd test it if I still used WIndows, but I don't.
