Squier '51 roll-call

Mine shipped today!!! I'm going to actually get one!!!

The was a template on the 51' modders forum sometime back for paintshop applications. I had some fun with it and made a project I would love to see done on a real guitar. For me black and gold looks so classy.

You may as well but a (2) up there by my name, because the hubby decided I had to have my own since I've been playing with my son's more than he has. I told him they were out of blonde and I didn't like the sunburst but he insisted I get it, saying I'd be sorry later if I didn't. I'll either get a black pickguard for it, which should make it look much better, or strip it down and paint it. I'm not sure if I'm smart enough to get all the electronic stuff back in properly, but I'm sure I could find some help for that.

Just get the black pickguard and make everything gold (bridge, tuners, blah, blah). It will be sweet.

Here's my concept. I used someone else's (who seem to have similar tastes) and added my dream pickguard.

An interesting modification suggestion thread from the squier modders forums. Basically suggests re-attaching the saddles in a different way to the bridge, to get rid of the "shaky screw" and "hard to insert string" problems.

For those, like me, waiting for GuitarFetish to get in their Squire 51 bridges and pickgards, here is an update that Jay from GuitarFetish posted on a Harmony Central Forum:
Squier 51 stuff will be up in early february, including the pickguard designs and bridges. We;ll also have discounted upgrade kits with everyting you need to upgrade these for one short price
