My 2nd '51 came with some extra drum heads, a really nice strap and a gig bag. I couldn't believe it. :wink: :wink:

I tired to explain how GAS is a very serious ailment that needs immediate attention but I don't think my husband believed me. Maybe I'll try this approach next time. :wink:
All my life I wanted to be somebody. Now I see I should have been more specific.
Got my sunburst in yesterday and it is very nice, but since I only ordered the sunburst because I couldn't get a blonde, I'm thinking of painting it. I don't know if I'm really up to the challenge, but I think I like shell pink with black.

If you know an auto painter you might get him or her to do it for a reasonable price :idea:
My two-tone showed up today.
Wow is it ever pretty.
And now I have both a white and black pick guard and white and black pup covers. :twisted:
This particular one is finished better than my blonde one. No rough frets at all. BTW, on my other one after playing it awhile, as Wes predicted, the burrs went away. Now if I could just get them out of my fingers. :D
Boy am I tempted just to order the black one and be done with this entire painful process. :roll:
And the drum heads, strap and gig bag are nice, too. :wink:

My sunburst should be here in about 3 days. I'm thinking about doing a mod on the pick guard(its to big IMO). Has any one seen what one of these looks like without a pick guard?

The guy removed the guard and put pewter dragonflies in the screw holes. Mine is more orangy and less red than his looks on my monitor.

Wow, I like that :D Gives it a whole new look. I could probably touch up the screw holes. I took the pick guard of my blond 335 and its not that noticeable 8) ..Thanks Melisa
Wow... now I'm thinking that I could get another and simply fill the holes... I'll bet you that would look COOL with a "semi" pickguard like the SG's.
Just think... you could get the sunburst for $99, take off the pickguard and sell that for $20 and the dang thing'll only cost $80.
Man... the sunburst with gold hardware would look pretty cool...

Just ordered a sunburst one. Odd that I feel the need to buy another guitar even though I can't really play the one I have now... Stupid GAS. Anyway I figured I might as well, it'll be nice to use for alternate tunings and as a mod guinea pig, etc etc etc later I figure. I mean at $100 how can I go wrong? Besides I'm single so I don't have to justify the purchase, mwahahahaha.

And I love those dragonflys...I had been thinking of some way to cut the pickguard down without all those holes. But I think taking it off altogether is the better bet. Thanks!
