I have a Highway One Strat, with the stock single coil pickups. I think they are Anico. It sounds good clean, but my main intent for this guitar will be blues. I was thinking of replacing them with a set of Texas Specials to get more of the SRV type blues sound. Was wondering of anyone had tried these, and what you thought of them. I have an Epiphone Les Paul that I will use more for rock since it's got two humbuckers, so that's kinda why I was considering this type setup for the Strat.

I have Texas Specials in my Strat, but don't have standard pickups to compare them to.
I have a Burns Marquee with standard pickups, but, then, we're comparing apples and pears.

I know it sounds like a cop-out, but I can only suggest that you go to a shop and try out a Strat with Texas Specials

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?
