I recently acquired a beautiful archtop guitar. The seller was not a huge player, and passed on limited information about the instrument. Being as curious as I am, I did my best to research the guitar prior to and after the purchase, but I haven't been able to find any information about the brand! It's an Armstrong guitar, assumed to be from the 1930s or 40s. It's a great guitar, and I'm proud to have it in my collection regardless of its history. Even so, I'd love to know more. If anyone has any information, it would be much appreciated! Thanks and happy playing!

Is there any sort of label inside?

The problem is that "Armstrong" could be a name given to a "house brand" of a store / chain. It may also be that Armstrong was a luthier and built individual instruments.

Worse still, you're going to have to sift out the "Dan Armstrong" guitars (he, of the plexiglass guitar) and "Kent Armstrong", who is known for pickups.

2 things:

1. Welcome to GN.

2. House rules - we need pictures - lots of pictures :D

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?
