Takamine...I just find that I like Takamines better than Washburns most of the time.
I think Takamines hold their value better also.
BTW.....I don't own one of either, so this is a pretty unbiased opinion.
You might want to look at some more options, the cedar on that particular Tak isn't for everyone as the sound is generally warmer than a brighter spruce top.

"Look at me coyote, don't let a little road dust put you off" Knopfler
Something else to consider, some of Takamine's prices just shot up A LOT (a guitar I bought less than two years ago for $700 is now listing for 1500 and selling for $1000) If you can get one at the old price, it might go up in value quick.
But don't let this be the deal breaker, get the one that sounds and plays the best.
Well, if you can't make it, stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive, if you can, and meet me in a dream of this hard land.
i have one of those Taks that just shot up in price, i'm very happy with mine.
this sounds like a great guitar for the money.
i doubt you will find many quality solid tops in this price range.
it seems to be getting good reviews, but i would try it out first for sure.
$300 is just barely into the acceptable quality guitar area imo. i would consider saving up a little more money and buying a far superior guitar.

I agree with Mr. Green - I wouldn't trade my Washburn for a Takamine period. Played both and fell in love with the Washburn :!:
Make sure you try before you buy - and never let someone decide for you :!:
Hold and play all you are considering and a few you haven't. Then buy the one that feels and sounds so good to you that you can't put it down.
