I am thinking about buying a used Fender 210. However the owner is saying its got a laminated top, while the Fender spec states that it is spruce.
I assume that means solid spruce?
Anyone got one, or can confirm what the top is made of?
And if you have one, are they nice???
Urgent please
Thanks
Matt
F-210 is a spruce top (laminate)
f-210s would be the designation for a "solid" top
#4491....
If the price is right and the sound is good, what the heck. Laminates have definitely gotten better over the past few years. But if you have the money, solid wood all the way around is what you really want. The top is the most important since that is your sound board.
You don't say if this is your first acoustic or what you are going to use it for. I know some guys won't take their good guitars out on gigs, so they buy a second for abuse. Personally, I buy a guitar to play it, play it where ever. I do take good care of my guitars but I'm not going to leave my best guitar at home and then expect to perform and sound my best with a less then desireable guitar.
