I bought this electric guitar from someone and i know nothing about guitars. its an electric guitar and i was told it was bought in the early 70's.Do you know who made this or where i can find out? I also have another guitar. Its a accoustical guitar. Its smaller than a regular guitar and its stella (i think). Anyone have any info about these? heres some pics of them

Hound dog Taylor could really make a Teisco wail and scream

I second the Teisco on the electric.
Stella guitars were budget models - Sears and other department stores sold them. In the 30s they were made by Oscar Schmidt, but Harmony acquired the label from them in 1939.
Harmony used a rubber stamp to mark the manufacturing date on Stellas - you might still be able to see it... it should be right under the soundhole. From the type size used for the 'Harmony' on the headstock, I'm guessing yours is a 1960s model (I have a 1962 Harmony, but it's not from the Stella line)

does this look like it to you? just a different color?
My first guitar (electric) was a tiesco semi-hollow 2 pickup.nice tone, Unfortunately it had a bad neck that was so warped It could not be fixed  I would love to find a solid body tiesco, those things sound wicked in the right hands
my first guitar (acoustic was a Harmony similar to yours but a bit newer (1970) that was also the year I got it for my birthday.

Yup thats it I think, How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking?
I paid $10 for it.. haha the guy was gonna take it to the dump. It seems to be in really good condition for its age. it also came with little kingston amp but i dont think the amp works right. Im thinking about putting it up on eBay.
Dude :!: You ARE the man  A good bargin is a great thing 8) :!: :D

Those are wild guitars! Some of them are so loaded with knobs and switches, it's like they're booby trapped. On a couple of models, I couldn't figure out how you'd even get at the strings for a decent down strum:-)

A buddy of mine had a Kingston amp :D Is yours a tube amp? you might try new tubes. Man this thread is like reliving my childhood
ten bucks is awesome. I subscribe to Vintage Guitar magazine. a few months back there was an article about them. they show up in this mag regularly too.
I do believe they are becoming collectable and the value will only increase...although there may be only a small audience for them;which is to your advantage.
you have a real find and a real steal.
