and then get the pick guard all covered in a fine mist of blood, and then everyone thinks you're some kinda crazy rock god playing your fingers to the bone, all over a hangnail? i love that stuff.

within the first year of playing I remember being proud when I shed a bit of blood. it was the picking finger fanning the strings.
