Wow, my gear includes:

A torino acoustic (very beginner, low quality)
A VMP electric guitar (decent guitar, but definitly not professional quality)
A classical guitar (no clue what company or make, but i've been told it sounds amazing)

A Yamaha practice amp (20 watts, built in distortion, really basic stuff)
Ibanez Chorus pedal

As you can see, i'm not very happy with my gear, but seeing as how i'm still in school and have no job, i have to live with it. I hope someday to get a better acoustic guitar and a nice amp (at least to start out with), then maybe get another electric and put a microphone into my classical guitar and buy a little amp to use that with. But of course, all of that will probably cost me nearly 3 grand (canadian) or so.

I feel so at home here. I ain't nothing but a poor country boy. I have 2 old Yamaha guitars, 1) an old red label nippon gakki fg110, 2) an old FG336SBII taiwan yamaha fitted w) a samick single coil pickup. Nice tone though. Been professionally worked once. Plays real sweet.

On the electric side--a heavily modded double hummer Squire strat affinity with the trem blocked.

I use an audio buddy pre amp and a Crate MX65R amp

gnease, I like the tone of the Carvin much better. I was playing both last night. Both are mahongany bodies with through necks and humbuckers. Carvin as a 5 piece maple walnut through neck. I like the Carvin much better than the Ibanez, there is a quality difference between them. The Carvin is cleaner sounding, not a muddy and the I like the tone much better.

Argen, Thanks. The top is 1/2" (1.27 cm) of flamed KOA on a mahogany body

John M, How is the SZ? I almost bought one of those once. The salesman only let me play it through a big stack that was set very bright and I felt like it had no bottom end. How is yours?

Thanks -- I asked because they seem very similar in design, though from different price tiers. Good to hear you got your money's worth in the Carvin.
