Is a frustration halved.
E-bay, Eko 6 string "excellent condition"
Now is it me, or is this a tad less than excellent and "just cleaned up"?
Note nut condition and state of strings especially!!
I say and write what I'm thinking, then wish I hadnt.
My only redeeming feature is that I'm honest.
Not excellent, but the strings don't count -- one would expect to replace those anyway. The nut does need to be replaced, as it is clearly allowing the e and B strings to slide across the zero fret. Bending these strings probably causes pinging sounds. Nevertheless, it doesn't look hopeless. How's the rest of it, and what did you pay?

Well, the funny thing is that the wife said it was unplayed since she'd had it, then the husband said it was in regular use since he was a "guitarist"!
The machine heads are wrapped round with 10 year old strings, (I mean wrapped, not wound!), the frets are worn, the neck dry and dirty. The body has several dings, some minor, some less so. The bridge has marks where pliers have been used to extract pegs, and, as you've noted, the nut is ermmm,,,,,,,, tired. :o
It cost £72, and it's an Eko Rio Grande.
Admittedly, new strings, new nut, new pegs, some lemon oil and some guitar polish, and it'll be OK, but excellent?
I think not!!!

its a shame that you dont have the other pictures, i certainly wouldn't put 'excellent condition' after it in a sale. its against the trade description act.
How does a nut manage to get like that ? anyone would thing its a converted 6 string bass. ( i know this is not the case due to the width of the neck).
A left hand conversion perhaps?
People are so odd.
We bought this and kept it because a: Ebay is "bid-to-buy", so we did, and b; because it's fixable. But we left neutral feedback. Not negative, neutral.
The seller disputed it!!!
Ah well, you win some, you lose some, 'eh? :)

How about a real bargain?

Looks like a deal to me. Brand new guitar, obviously broken in at the factory and has a chin rest.
A left hand conversion perhaps?
That was my thought as well.

That's how my guitar used to look, before I learned the correct way to put on strings
