Amp Plug/Outlet Problem

speaking of electricity, I was putting a new cord on my clothes dryer and while unscrewing the old cord I did not unplug it first was in a hurry Stupid!!!! while unscrewing one of the connections the screw driver slipped off the screw and shorted and tons of sparks jerked my wrist and put the head of the screw driver to the cement took a moment to relax and then looked at the screw driver the metal tip was fried black and the cement was also black, Lucky I was holding the plastic handle and my other hand was on my knee, Point is be very careful with electricity I always turn off circuit breakers now since that happened.
