I have an American Strat and I peeked under the hood the other night when I changed strings.  I saw that I could take the whole pickguard with pickups out and unscrewing two screws (looked like grounds) and by melting the solder off of the input jack.  I have been thinking about buying a new pickguard wired with two EMG humbuckers to put in my strat when I want a different sound.  I would only have to solder it in at the input jack in two places.  I was wondering if I could find some kind of connectors that I could solder onto the jack so I could merely unplug one pickguard and plug in the other and not have to keep soldering and resoldering when I switched.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

That would be something to experiment with as long it made a good connection.
There are Quick Diconnects on this page that when one plugs in its covered by the plastic covering of the other one.

Only one way to see if it works is to try it.
