My Acoustic guitar has recently aquired a major buzzing/rattling noise on the A string. I believe it originates from the 'bar' the strings are on (this is the nut I believe - Doesn't look like a nut to me...) at the top of the neck.

Can't really think what would suddenly cause this...any help?

Have you recently changed strings?

Most Acoustic guitars use 12 gauge strings if you switched to lighter gauge 11's you may need your neck adjusted for the 11's.

:D

if you want to stick with the 11's and feel adventurous go to the "basic setup" section on my pages below and see if you want to tackle the adjustment.

EDIT: if you just changed to smaller strings all you will need to do is the "neck relief" adjustment.

That's the thing I haven't changed anything about my set-up recently...

on the plus side it seems to have stopped.
