I have put EMG's in my tele with two vols and no tone. For some reason, they won't work if I plug the plug all the way in. If I plug just to the ring, they start working. I have tried different jacks and even a different toggle with the same results. I can't figure what I could have done wrong. I have looked at numerous wiring diagrams and I have the battery ground to the ring, the hot to the tip and the ground to the sleeve. Frustrated big time. Anyone have any suggestions, besides trashing the EMG's?

I was reading your post and didn't see you mention a Stereo Jack..EMG's require a Stereo Jack..Im sure you knew this of coarse, but just thought I'd throw it out there for the heck of it..
