My guitar was first my cousins who quit. I am a begginer so I have been using it. It has alot of finger prints. What do I use to get them off. Would water work or make mold?

You can probably use an old (clean) cotton tee-shirt that you're not wearing anymore. Cotton is good.

You don't want to put water on the guitar, but sometimes you can use a very slightly damp cloth - like hardly wet at all - and wipe the stuff off. Then finish with the dry cloth.

You can also go to the guitar store and pick up some guitar cleaner.

which is the best method for wetting a diaper? sorry. couldnt pass that one up.

cotton dampened with H2O is a great cleaner.

a guitar polish is good too, but Ive always used water and cotton cloth.
I keep a clean cotton dish towel in my guitar case to wipe it down after use..
stays nice and clen that way.

Micro-fibre cloth - needs no solvent.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

Blowing on it to moisten it with breath condensation, then wiping it off with a clean dry cloth works well if it's not extrememly dirty.

And cotton diapers really are unbeatable as shop rags.

i dont have any diapers either.
wgat does work as a good substitute is flour sack dish towels.
they are large, white, and not thick (no tery cloth type bumps).
they are very smooth on the finish.

I found them a Target. one could try a kitchen utensil type store like Crate and Barrel; they have them.
