hey everyone.....I need to know how to make my bridge float on my fender stratocaster. Can any one help me at all?
You wont be able to do that if your bridge isnt made to float. You know it by the no. of screws it's on. If it is on 2 screws, you should get some tension off the trem. springs. They are beneath the cavity cover on the back of the guitar.

Basically, if it's a 2-point one, you need to take off that back cover plate, and then turn the screws that attach the springs to the guitar body. If the bridge is right up against the body, you need to decrease the tension. The goal is to get the bridge level, but it takes some experimenting, because when you let off of the tension and put the bridge level, the strings o out of tune. When you tune them, the bridge moves. It takes some experimentation. Good luck!!!
