Hi Guys,

I am thinking about getting some EMG-HZ pickups installed in an old SG and was wondering how much the installation would cost.
If any one has had pickups installed proffesionally could you let me know.

How difficult is it to install them yourself?

Cheers

Bob.

The EMG-HZs are passive and are almost an exact replacement for any standard four-conductor humbucker-style pickup. The only difference that I can see is the little connector they use for the wires at the pup itself.

For straight installation with no series/parallel switching, it should be pretty easy if you can solder.
Wiring diagram is here:

No idea what a luthier would charge; I'd guess US$50-100 per pickup. If you went with active pups I'd expect it would be quite a bit higher.

By the way, what made you decide on the HZs?
