I have a Floyd Rose Discovery Series/ Fat Strat style - Humbucker/bridge - single coil in mid/neck. Problem is, this guitar hums pretty bad in any position except for the bridge pickup. What can I do to quiet this thing down? I have other instruments with the same configuration pickup wise & they do not hum this bad.

It is almost like a ground hum - I recently went over all the connections & everything is tight, soldered well. Any suggestions?

might help if you shield the pup and control cavities -- though maybe not much, as the humbucker is clearly doing its job on the magnetic field interference, and shielding resists electric field interferences not magnetic.

do your other guitars have true single coil pups? actives? a SC pup with a smaller coil (few turns) and a stronger magnet will not be quite so susceptible to hum as one with more turns and a weaker magnet. but the they do not sound the same, and strong magnets can play havoc with the string vibrational dynamics.
