DON'T YELL!!!!
Now tell us what kind of pickups, single coil, Humbuckers?. Anyway, most pickups have a screw on each end of the pickup that if you turn it clockwise should raise them and counter clockwise would lower them.

They are centered on the left and the right of your pick-up's. Fret the last fret (21,22 or 24 which ever is the last) and take your measurement from the top of the pick-up to the bottom of the strings. Try not to raise them anymore them 3/16th's from the bottom of the strings.
Mess around untill you get the sound you like.
