I''ll be bringing back my old nylon-strung guitar home, and it still has its original strings from, let me think... 17 years ago. Thing is, I've no idea how to change them, and it looks pretty scary. Does anyone have any tips? Or shall I just take the guitar to the shop and ask them to do it? :D

Hey thanks for that. I'll certainly give it a go with that tutorial.

(And of course if I get stuck, I'll blame it on you, is that alright? )

I finally got around to changing my strings... it took me quite a long time, but I followed the tutorial and it went okay...

I was almost finished, just tidying things up.

I was quite pleased with myself you know, I started feeling quite smug as I finished tuning the 1st string.

That's when it broke.

And I don't have any spare.

you probably were not wearing enough black clothing . classical is a bit more formal.
the more you change your strings the less the process feels mysterious. I bet the next time
will be less scary. new strings are great. plus you will know when they start to go bad.
