How small is it? Got a pic of it? Short of replacing it I'm not sure there's anything you can do.

Sure it's all right. Don't get carried away with rubbing it with abrasive polishes, though, or you'll wear through the thin plating. If it's gold plating, it's extremely thin and will soon show the underlying silvery metal through it anyway. You probably won't get the scratch to go away.

I understand how you feel. The first scratch is the hardest. You've got to get over that, though, guitars will get some scratches, nicks and wear from honest use. Just take care of it and don't abuse it. It'll be fine.

I laugh and scoff at the guys who buy "relicked" guitars or artificially "age" nice new ones, but the signs of normal wear on a cared-for guitar are badges of honor.

I know what you mean, all 3 of my guitars have small imperfections. After the first scratch or chip, you relax a bit and you don't have to keep it immaculate anymore. I still take good care of them though and overall, i think it makes my guitars unique. 8)
