Ok , I have two questions. I have a washburn acoustic # d-120 and I've heard that if I change the nut & saddle to bone or tusque it will improve the sound quality.
First question, Which will give it a warmer sound? Bone or Tusque?
Second question, Is it difficult to replace these items or should I have a pro do it?
Thanks,
Spirit

In case you didnt know, Tusq is fake ivory and bone is.. bone 8) . I dont know about warmth, but my seagull came installed with a tusq nut, and its great! What ever you pick, you should have a luthier do it, unless youre a luthier youself! :)

have them make two or three while you are at it.

You can get them in Tusq, micarta, bone, old styrofoam McDonald's cartons, etc, etc.....

Then you can switch them out when you change strings.

You might want to get the luthier to make you an extra one a bit higher incase you fall in love with playing slide.
