Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I come asking for help with an output jack problem. The jack is screwed in and tightened fine, but when I plug in, I get a crackling while doing so. When I twist the cable, I can often silence the noise, but it still occurs frequently. I opened the guitar (Classic 72 Tele Reissue) and suspect a problem with the shielding with the white wire coming from the neck pickup connecting to the output jack. Pictures in the link below to give visual aid for my problem. Thanks!

Hi Jack,
Ive had a look at the pics, and it all seems to be ok in the wiring department... a little messy here and there, but nothing that should be causing you too many worries.
Looking at the output jack itself, it appears to have quite a bit of oxidization on it, this can cause crackles and cut outs.
I was going to go into a description of how to fix this, but I found a clip that shows it really well.(This guy uses 600grit sandpaper, I like to use 1200..it leaves a smoother feel to the output)

I'm gonna try that, I feel something similar may be happening with my pedal board too because I've been having similar problems with a couple of my stomps. Thanks, I'll let you know how this goes.
