I bought a used Kent Armstrong Hot Single Coil. The lead wires are too short.

can i lengthen them? or do i ahve to desolder the original wires and solder on new ones?

I would think splicing wires onto the ones you have to lengthen them would be the best bet. Do you mean by desoldering removing the wires at the pickups to add new ones? That would be trickey. Add to the ends you have. If you use solder there won't be a noticable difference in sound or performance. The splices will be inside the guitar. No one will see them.

that's what I thought...my main concern was that spliced wires would cause degradation, but i guess that's not the case
