Hi everybody!

I just bought an acoustic guitar. It has the post on the bottom for the strap but not one at the top of the body.

My question is can you a post be added so you don't have to use a string to tie on a strap?

Will it compromise the sound of my guitar?

Thanks, G.

No it won't compromise the sound of your guitar in any way...
It's a very common mod to do to an acoustic... for what it cost (a couple of dollars DIY), i don't know why more manufacturers don't have them installed in the factory

IMHO, the best place for the strap pin is here... (righthand guitar)

Some guitars have them on the bottom of the heel and i tend to think it makes the guitar dip forward when playing.

Peace

J

J,

Thanks for the reply.

Even though it's a DIY, I might get somebody to do it for me.

Thanks again, G.

I had a music store install a strap pin on my acoustic and it was only $10-15.
