Hey everyone, new here. I have a fender strat and a few of the frets when I play one them dont give any sound or they have a "Plink" sound to them. They dont put out the sound they should. Is there any way I can fix this? Thanks for your help.

check the distance of the strings from the fret. if there is no clearance then the string cannot vibrate. it will sound punky.
if this is a new guitar, did the seller give it a proper set up? usually they are free with a sale. and another one is needed , sometimes, after a break in period. (within a year).

I was playing an Epi. LP at Guitar Center once and I was thinking of buying it. But before I buy any guitar, I play every fret on each string, looking for problems. Well this LP had a "dead fret" on the G string at about the 10th fret. It wasn't buzzing or anything, it just wouldn't play. I think the problem was that the fret was loose. It wasn't seated tightly on the fingerboard. The guitar tech said they would have to send it out for repair.
