Would a strat neck position pickup fit in the neck position slot of a tele?
I'm thinking of putting an alnico 3 strat neck pickup with humbucking rails at the bridge on my tele copy. Is that just a wacky idea? Would anyone out there discourage me from doing so?

The pickup will probably fit in the actual guitar opening, but not in the Telecaster pickguard (if you have one). BUT, you can fix that by simply sanding the opening for the pickup in the pickguard. It wouldn't take too long to make it fit.

I wouldn't discourage you at all.
Sounds like a cool idea.

I don't know about the neck pups, though if you were talking about putting a Strat SC sized HB in the bridge of a Tele....
I'm pretty sure that the screws are a different pattern, and the Tele's are uncovered.

Like I says, I don't know if you were thinking of getting a Strat pup for the bridge or if they make a Tele version that
you were thinking of getting.....
I just wanted you to be aware of those differences, in case

Dali could probably answer that better, as he's modded a couple Tele's in his day 8)
