I was wondering whether it would be worth upgrading the pickups on my $350 strat. For the pickups what would a pair of MIM pickups be worth (I rarely use the middle pickup). Or failing that just getting an absolutly trashed MIM or American strat and just salvaging the usefull parts. I really like my guitar and i would not want to replace my first guitar, so I was wondering what you far more knoledgable people were thinking about upgrading a guitar such as mine.

Any advice much appreciated.

thanks Soundgarden

Liking the guitar means a lot, don't under-estimate the value of an instrument that you feel comfortable with. You like what you've got, so it is worth upgrading.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

In a word - YES!!!!

I have a $350 MIM strat - I replaced the pups with Dimario Virtual Vintages, and it sound great. Made all the difference in the world - I wouldn't trade her for anything.....

Its a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself.

Right and don't let the "CHEAP" prices fool you.. these guys at Guitar Fetish are the real deal and they have a pretty good variety of P/U's :)

If you have any questions just email em. They do get back to you.

i got something better than all those!

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-KeyStone-Single-Strat-pickups-by-Bill-Lawrence_W0QQitemZ160026144497QQihZ006QQcategoryZ22670QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

for a little more than 70 bucks you have the most affordable, reliable, best sounding boutique pickups that capture the essence of everything that is a strat! seriously over at TDPRI those guys rave about Bill's Keystones!

and if you dont want those then email

[email protected]

and he will answer any questions you have and also take your order for a new set!

seriously BUY these pickups if you are looking for that pure strat sound.

These are cheaper than GFS pickups, sound way better, and they are made in America BY HAND by Bill and Becky! And all calibrated and very touch sensitive. I know I seem a little pushy and a bit like an infomercial but Keystones the absolute best Strat and Tele set of pickups and for 60+shipping. You cant beat that.

Are you SURE those are made by Bill and Becky Lawrence? They are not listed on Bill's website, and I get the feeling that those pups are actually made and produced by the "Bill Lawrence Music Company", which is a totally different company that just uses Bill's name.

No the keystones are in fact made by hand by Bill and Becky Lawrence. Its not the same company who sold those shotty pups on stew-mac that time. This is the REAL deal.

Check it out on TDPRI
