Thanks Dan! :D
critique time: ok?
both the rhythm and solo guitar were played well. both had feeling.
I think they competed with one another. my attention was bounced around.
it was distracting.
the solo guitar played a string bending fluid emotional line. the rhythm guitar's irregular tempo
often overpowered that sensitive melodic line. now that was some nice rhythm guitar playing. I like mixing up the strums, etc.
the song would have a stronger intent , for me, if one guitar supported the other.
I would opt for the rhythm guitar playing under the solo line. you could still rhythm flourish,
just keep it subtler.
the solo guitar: some of the bends didn't quite get there. I end up pushing the string harder and it pops off my finger.
add some vibrato to the notes you want to ring out longer.
thanks for posting. let's hear more. 8)
well im the last person to offer any kind of advice on recording and mixing etc - hell - i cant even use audacity.
i do think there is some very nice playing there though - i also look forward to hearing more.
"I like to play that guitar. I have to stare at it while I'm playing it because I'm not very good at playing it."
Noel Gallagher (who took the words right out of my mouth)
Thanks guys for taking the time to listen! :D
