Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
nothing like electric guitar blues with my coffee and toast breakfast.
blues men you have started my day properly.
Magic job and congrats to all concerned. At one stage the bass leaps from one place to another on stage (Pan) and the volume changes but heck if your new to Audion that's a minor detail.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and by the sound of it you all did to.

Those who can't dance always blame the band.
Hey thanks for listening! Yah, I had six different bass players who sent their parts in, and I tried to even the volume out in each without adjusting the eq in any way. Then I panned then as if they were all standing on stage in different locations. At first I tried just going in a clockwise pattern - Sleutelbos at 8 o'clock, gnease 11, etc - but it didn't sound separated enough, so I opted for something maybe a little easier to distinguish (to make sure people knew when one part was ending and the next taking over; Sleutelbos was 8 o'clock, gnease was 4 o'clock, slej 11 o'clock, smokindog 2 o'clock, then 9 o'clock/3 o'clock, etc.
Normally for my tunes I try to place the bass player at around 2 o'clock in the stereo field and the main guitar at 10 o'clock because that's usually where I used to stand (as guitarist) on stage. I have the bass on the other side of the 'stage' (but close to the drums) to balance things out, then feature the voice as much as posible, but still off-center to allow the digital reverbs to bounce things, and then fill the rest in.
This one was a little different with six bass players and four guitarists. At one point the thought came to mind "I'm not mixing this for me or featuring the guitars; I'm mixing it for them, featuring the basses." :)
I might have another listen/mix with the bass parts though. The ones that are real bottom-endy I might pull back a little on the volume. I've heard a couple of your tunes that you put up, and the mixing's really sweet by the way, so as you know, if you pull the volume back on a bottomy track to even it out, unless you boost another frequency, you sorta lose definition. Some of the bass players had more middy tones, some with more treble, and some more bottom end, but for this one I didn't want to mess with the eq just to keep their original tone intact. You know, 'their' sound was the important factor.
Still, you're right, a couple do sorta jump out.
Thanks again for listening :)
Once again everyone, featuring the bass stylings of:
Sleutelbos
gnease
slejhamer
smokindog
vink
Vic Lewis
Yup, the 4th one really jumps out and is distorted on my speakers at work. Have'ta do a little remix.
Always fun to mix though :)
Did a little remix on the parts. Check it out when you can!
Best
I get "error loading songfile." :(
