Here's a quick little cover of The Ronettes' "Be My Baby" I whipped up tonight. I'm still contemplating doing a fuller version of it, with some more instruments.

Jeff, you really put yourself out there and didn't embarass yourself at all.
I really liked it.
Good job!!!

"I play live as playing dead is harder than it sounds!"
Perhaps too many reverb for the voice... but the jazzier chords sound great! 8)
Congrats Jeff! And go for the fuller version if you wish but this is very nice.
I loved it! Very cool! Love the guitar and you've got a great voice! Very nice indeed! :D

"Don't wanna ride no shootin' star. Just wanna play on the rhythm guitar." Emmylou Harris, "Rhythm Guitar" from "The Ballad of Sally Rose"
Thanks all! One thing that surprised me was how sad this song sounds when it's played like that! Without the backing vocals and everything it sounds so plaintive.
Jeff
Thats cool! Sort of what it would sound like if the Zombies coverd it. 8)

Really? That's cool.
I'm doing another song with a bossa nova feel, and I was thinking about how "Be my baby" and the girls groups coincided with the bossa craze of the early 60s after Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto's classic "Getz/Gilberto" album. The girls groups were aimed at kids and bossa nova was aimed at adults, but looking back there's a lot of sophistication in those "little symphonies for kids", as Phil Spector put it.
Jeff

Thanks!
Jeff
