Here's a shiny new version of 'Big Train':
http://www.box.net/shared/fl546kcvvq
A collab among 4 GNers, (dogbite, Nuno, Mesa Monster, me) and my sister Laurie (GN lurker only).
We had a blast doing it and hope you enjoy.
Any and all feedback welcome!
:)

That is delightful.
That gritty voice of Dogbite is very distinctive. I like it. Really. I'm not saying that just to be nice (it's not my character).
And what a great combo with Nuno and Mesa Monster!
(I have 2 of MM's tunes on my iPod, "Buddy & Rasta Dog" and "Warlock's Waltz" = a masterpiece)
And Laurie! Quit lurking.
Grab that mike and let 'er rip. We could use more female vocals on this forum.
If someone puts together a "Best of GuitarNoise 2008" they're going to have a lot of good songs to work with.

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
Glad I could be part of this. Gave me a chance to haul out my poor Tele, which doesn't get enough action. Very nice job on the production (which I can't take any credit at all for). It'd be fun to do more stuff in this way.
Cool! Who played the keys here? Downloaded it for future enjoyment. 8) Slight tip: maybe seperate the two vocal tracks slightly more left/right to keep them clearer.
Great job everyone!
Box man
This is awesome man , loved it
well done my friend
Cheers

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am

Laurie, the Boxboy's sister. And she also did the vocal chorus. Dogbite, voice, acoustic guitar and slide. Mesa Monster, the solo. Me, the song riffs (I think they are over the bass). Boxboy, all the rest, including the coordination of all of us and the mixing!
It was very funny to collaborate in this song. It was my first collaboration (apart from July/Foto). I learnt a lot but fundamentally I enjoyed a lot! :D
Behold the power of online jam !
Nice job everyone. :D
That was great! 8)

Thanks for all the kind words, folks!

Diggin it guys!
I really like the keys too. The backup vocals are right on the money. Hey who did the drums? (ie..where'd ya get such good sounding drum's? Sound really good.) I need a good drum program.
Edit: Note to self...download this when you get home!
Teamwork- A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction.
Hey, Blueline,
First, glad you're diggin' it! That's great. Thanks for listening.
The bass and drums on the track are stripped out of a MIDI file I found somewhere in cyberspace; no clue where exactly.
I assigned a default Logic Express (my DAW) patch, 'Dry Standard Kit", to the drums.

Now, when my friends ask me, "where'd you get this?" I'll have to say.."Yeah, I know these guys...they're in the business. I get all of the demos before they go national with their stuff!! (tuck my hand underneath my waistline and lean back...yeah)
Love it guys!!!!
