Hey

This is me and a few of my friends, drummer, sax, and bass player. We're doing a kinda funky blues rock jam. Not much else to say. I've been waiting until we could record a better version before I posted here, but my amp is now in the shop, and I'm getting antsy. We aren't totally happy with it, I'm unhappy with my solo (notice when the wah wah kicks in, it sounds very angry, I was venting through my guitar about some error I had just made lol) and i'm unhappy with my tone. We're gonna change the bassline too, we had avery cool one but for some reason that got tossed aside.

Anyways, without further adue,

I'll be sure to post the new version once we get to recording it!

Like always, comments/criticism are appreciated!

I tried to listen to it, but it just kept buffering forever. I went down to Blues Improv in G and it played fine (I thought perhaps this was the song you wanted us to hear).

So, something not quite right with this recording.

Your playing on the song I did listen to was excellent. I enjoyed that very much. You play with a lot of dynamics.

My mistake. Had a little problem uploading it, but I assumed it worked. It works now!

And thank you regarding the other recording. I put that up on guitarnoise quite some time ago. Thanks Wes.

Again, comments /criticism appreciated!

I liked it alot Taso! Maybe your sax player could play alittle rhythm while you solo? Just a thought so that it's not just bass & drums. All in all though, I thought you guys really sounded great. Keep it up!

Thanks guys.

A keyboard would definitly be sweet. I WISH I had a keyboard player. No one I know plays though...

Dntalb, what would the sax player do for rhythm? I don't know much about horns..You have any ideas?

Thanks, any other comments appreciated.

I don't know much about horns either to explain what I'm thinking of correctly, but kinda like short little bursts, (for lack of a better term), from the sax playing maybe just the root note, or the 1-3-5 notes, kinda like the bass would do, or maybe the basic melody of the song? Nothing fancy that would draw away from the soloist, but just enough to add alittle background. Hope I'm explaining it right. I know I've heard what I'm trying to explain from other bands with sax players. I know a local band that has one guitarist, and a couple of sax players. I'll see if I can find the link to their web page for you, as they used to have some of their songs available to listen to on it.

Hey, it worked!

Not bad at all. Any criticism I would make would be the mix. The rhythm guitar is just a little loud in the mix for my tastes, and a touch too distorted. I could not hear the bass at all at first, then it came in strong and also a little distorted sounding. The drummer was a little busy as well. But hey, that's what drummers do. :D

But this is just my personal tastes. The song was good. I liked the solos by the sax and guitar. I really liked the tone of the guitar, nice Blues tone. The wah was very good.

So maybe remix it a little, bring the rhythm guitar down a little, take a little of that distortion out of the bass, and you have a great little tune.

Keep up the great work.

Thnaks for the suggestion dnltab, we'll try it out.

Thanks Wes. We can't just remix it, gotta re-record it, we're all on the same track, but it ain't hard for me to turn down the volume ;)

lol yeah, the bass player was using an amp that wasn't his, so when he went to adjust something, it didn't do exactly what he expected, interesting to watch him try to figure it out while playing.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Any other comments/criticism, either way?
