I took Nunos advice and used the backing track that came with the House of Blues book to re-do the Full Blues Lead that I put up on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaH6d7gSl6c

I don't have a video, but I recorded this with my Micro BR and used the Blues Drive Effects processor.
I also got rid of the Squire, and this is done on a Guitar Research JX17S Eddie Durham 100th Anniversary Hollow Body with flat wound strings.

The first :42 seconds it's tab from the book. The next :42 are complete Improvisations as per the exercise in the book (and it gets kind of dicy as I kind of hang up for a second not knowing where to go.)

They wanted you to use all 5 Am Pentatonic Scales, but I only used the 1st two, I can't get my hands down past the twelvth fret comfortably yet, but I think I hit a couple notes in the 3rd positon. (I can't believe I just said this stuff and know what the heck I'm talking about)

Anyway, here's the link to the music, I hope you enjoy it, and feedback would be great.

The timing is very good! I think I prefer the second part (your improvisation), perhaps you are more focused on the correct notes than in playing in the first part, the music flows directly from your fingers in the second one.

I needed some time (and surely I will need much more) for getting used to play over all the neck. I did (and I keep doing) some exercises for helping to it but there will be similar ones in your instruction method.

Congrats!

Thanks Nuno.

I was really trying to get the correct pitch on the bends in that first part, and really trying to keep in time when I did that 7 note run up the scale in the first part.

The 2nd part I had know idea where I was going, but just kind of followed the scale and tried to skip a couple points in it and tried a couple slides. I was trying hard to listen to the bass backing to try and change what scale I was using when that changed, but I don't think I hit it real well.

That's what practice if for after all.

I agree with Nuno. More flow and personality in the 2nd part. Good job.
