And here's another terribly happy and upbeat song for people to start the day with. Paino, electric guitar* and vocals.

*First recording of my GT8 with the EVJ in the loop. Never knew how fun it was to play with feedback using headphones.

Strangely, I really like this one. My folks split in 1970. I didn't see "dear old dad" again until 1995  I think he was in hiding. Like the quote in the movie "Prince of Tides".."He would have been a good father If he wasn't so violent"

Speaking as someone who is currently going through the process, I'd have to say you've captured everything quite well. After listening to the song, I have this irresistible urge to jam a pencil up my nostril and into my brain. That was the effect you were going for...right? :D

as always, good job!

Thanks people. I know it's not really that much of a happy song. It's part of a larger 'demo project' I'm trying to finish, will postit after I'm done with the 'best of GN' thing.

Thanks for listening!

It's definitely haunting, I like the little Bye-Bye from the baby...Seems you've been into babies lately

I think it needed more frantic chaotic parts in the middle kind of a climax of the two sides reaching the inevitable realization that the marriage isn't working, then slow it back down with the baby sounds to get the feeling that this is over and someone is moving on and won't be around anymore. just my two cents but it was cool I love depressing music.

totally sad. excellent. you have captured and expressed the vibe extremely well.
you have avoided cliche . a small child saying goodbye in the context of the title could have been sooo very wrong.
as I have said before, you have good talent for creating visuals in your music.

Cnev: Thanks. On itself you're absolutely right, that is a great idea. However (and I know it makes it almost impossible to critique this) it is part of a larger song, just like the other baby song (actually it's about the same people). It'll be really, really cool (or atleast the idea behind it), will post it ASAP. But I promised myself I would first do the 'Best of GN', so I marked today as 'sober & lucid, do GN stuff'.

Dogbite: Thanks. If all goes well visualising music and visual music will be two important aspects of next year's projects, so that's great to hear. I'm glad the emotion came through and hope that it'll clear things up once I upload the full thing.

Ig,

That's cool I wouldn't expect you to change anything based on my opinions but although divorce brings alot of sadness and lonliness it brings in alot of cases alot of anger and frustration, which the music didn't really bring out.

Somewhere in the middle of the song it could have had some spoken word arguments between the husband and wife leading up to a crescendo and then bring it back down to the very somber haunting sound that you have going on with the baby crying bye bye. would kind of bring it all full circle.

Still cool as is though.
