I attempted improvisation today. Wasn't sure how to do it so I just pick chords out of a key and strum and changed between them at randomly. D, Em and G......think those are in key anyway. I went out of key by the end anyways. It's kind of repeatative but oh well. And I'm starting to see why no one likes the D chord. Comments, questions, concerns, word of the days and potato chips that look like famous people are all wecome.

OWA

I thought it was pretty good. You change chords well and have a nice even strum. The distortion caught me by surprise. :D I really should have been expecting that from you. I also liked the climbing sliding thing.

Keep up the good work.

Thant's very good OWA! I know how hard it is at improv since that is what I have been working on with my solos. Not easy to do at all!

Keep up the good work!

Hey OWA

This is a pleasant surprise , I can't do anything quite that good yet . Your miles in front of this old bloke ...

I like the sound .. the chord changes are nice as already mentioned ..

Keep going girl you might even get a call up for Kittie as a back up player

All the best

Hilch :?:

Bugger I like D .... ( is there something wrong with me ?)

Side note ... There was a woman in th USA today on the news with a potatoe chip in the shape of an Angel , I have no idea what that has to do with music

And here is to me as bad as I am

Sounded fine to me - if I'd learned that quickly, I'd only be £499million behind McCartney now instead of £500million.....

You keep it up, you'll be answering the metal questions on Beginner's Q&A in a few weeks....

Keep rockin' OWA!

:D :D :D

Very cool OWA 8) Sounds nice , I liked how you came in with the distortion  NOW--Try noodling around over what you have with some lead guitar, keep it simple, just some D pentatonic stuff. I'm assuming you are using audacity, so just play over what you did until you do something you like :D You can hit the delete button as many times as it takes :D --nice job--the dog

Thank you very much for your support!

I re-did it, as per smokindog's advice to try a lead. I had to do several re-takes to get this one and even still I messed up. I used the D major pentatonic, for the most part. There were a couple notes on the sixth string that were in that scale because I forgot I was in drop D. But it did allow me to play the string open as part of the scale.

Anyway, here's my first attempt at a lead, it's not much but oh well. I don't think it's bad for my first time.

Oh and for fun, there is also a recording of it with my friend Galis playing the bassline. Go easy on us, we're both beginners at this.

hi

as you know I don't know a hell of a lot on guitars but the gain on the lead to me sounded a tad bit high , mind you I listen to music full volume what you and your friend Galis have done you should be proud of . A couple of beginners haveing a go good on ya ...

If you don't believe me thats is pretty darn good I might just have to post me and my son playing ...We do this now and then neither of us can play and we love to make alot of noise usually when mother is out

Keep up the good work both of you
