Hey...liked the theme and theory behind this site so thought I'd join up.

I have been playing off and on for about...10 years or so.
Hadn't p[layed in a year or two until I found I could use this
PC here in front of me for something besides games and surfing.

Grew up listening to the likes of MacAlpine, Satriani, Lynch, Malmsteen,
all the "Guitar Gods".

Also, Liszt...Paganini, (Beethoven <---- My fave "Moonlight Sonata" rules)

I try and base my own style on the Romantic period of "Classical"
music, also Contemporary classical, etc. etc.

But of course was influenced some by the guys above a little.

I like "shredding", but it has to have some musicality, ebb and flow,
and melody to it.

Cut to the chase, here is a tune I did a few weeks ago, using
my Strats, RP200A, Ibanez TS, drum samples from various
places on the net, and Fruity Loops.

I'm still kind of new to mixing so my production, though not terrible,
is not quite Pro Demo quality either.

Did this one a few weeks ago.

Never posted here though...in fact only posted it at one or two places.

Anywho...

Points of Interest:

Idea behind this is the usual dark, madness, that I love so much.

In the first few bars, there is use of a rarely used scale, which
is part chromatic, but skips every other 5th note. It's called the
"Messianic scale"
...least that's what someone told me afterwards,
complete with tab and chart.

Create/learn something new everyday...

Occurs from the 0:40 to 0:53 second mark.

(Messianic=Messiah? Guess that's the root meaning. Kinda scary
sounding for God though...) :?

5-fingered hammer-on/legato version of George Lynch's "Gothic Octave" mode.

Anyway, some good licks and a subtle theme that begins around the 2:05
mark...diminished into descending diatonic motif.

Tempo....mood changes...

Fruity Loops and my patience contribute the strange sounds...

It's a little on the errie side.

Think...Bowels of the earth...with groove and flash.

Always....cool.8)

Only fault with this file is that there is a 0.10 of a second "hiccup"?
My computer's memory must have had a brain fart or something.

Whoops...had the wrong file up...the treble in the last section of
the file I had up was way too high.

I fixed this awhile back.

Same links work above.

If anyone's ears were bleeding...sorry about that. :?

I'm not a big fan of the genre. But this sounds cool, your playing sounds clean, very nice. Like your vibrato too. (I'm trying to work on bending and vibrato, not putting enough focus into it though)

Sounds mad, I like it.
