Bonus points for whomever can tell me what the time signature is. I honestly haven't got a clue. Anyway: it's a basic string trio (two violins and a cello) with a pianist and eleven friendly but shy violinist join for the second half.

Portamento or glissando is sliding from one note to another but is there a term
for the swelling of the note and then letting it fade?
IOW, if I was looking at the loudness vs time graph (as in Audacity), it would be in the shape of a football.
Is there a musical term for that?

an instruction to play a note with sudden, strong emphasis (Italian, literally "forced").
